Dodge Ram commercial uses Martin Luther King Jr. speech, drawing praise and disgust
A Dodge commercial featuring civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. upset many people.
The Super Bowl LII ad shows citizens helping others as King talks about greatness, referencing King speaking 50 years ago.
Many people voiced their anger. Some said it was exploitation.
Didn’t have too much of an opinion either way on this one. Except to say that we didn’t see the point in having King’s speech in a Dodge truck commercial. Was it a cool commercial? Sure it was. But what was the point to including the speech?
Gonna go out on a limb here and jump on the bandwagon. We found it somewhat disrespectful to compare a truck to Martin Luther King Jr.
Watch it and let us know what you think:
The worst commercials are those that use icons like Martin Luther King Jr to sell things like a Dodge Ram truck.
